Care 4 U Community Health Center seeks an experienced RN to provide health services to participants of the Lotus House Children’s Village, a new, state-of-the-art hub for diverse and enriched educational programming, supportive services, and community resources benefitting the children, youth, and families of Lotus House, Overtown, and the surrounding area. These services will be provided by Lotus House Program and other various community providers, including Care 4 U.
Primary Responsibility:
Provide health services to participants of Children's Village programs when they are on site.
Duties:
- Provide basic healthcare in case of injury or acute illness
- Develop health plans for children with chronic illnesses and disabilities
- Develop curriculum and make presentations to educate children and staff on different health issues (e.g. healthy habits, proper nutrition, good hygiene)
- Detecting health problems in early stages through regular screenings
- Keep track of children's vaccination records
- Update children's medical history
- Ensure the Children’s Village environment is safe for children and staff (e.g., prevention of communicable diseases)
- Consult with Care 4 U's ARNP provider at the Lotus House main clinic to facilitate referrals for pediatricians and other health specialists
- Promote overall community health through education and wellness initiatives
- Ensure compliance with national and local health laws
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with active Florida nursing license
- American Heart Association issued Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Three years’ experience as a staff nurse in a school or pediatric setting or five years experience with any other population
- Excellent organizational and communication skills including public speaking
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Nursing
- Trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole)

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
