Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Emergency Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team as relief, Saturday mornings are the main shift we need filled at this time but there will be opportunities to pick up additional shifts throughout the week. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is comfortable handling urgent and critical cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with emergency exams, treatments, and procedures
- Monitor and care for hospitalized patients
- Perform basic technical skills (e.g., restraint, venipuncture, catheter placement)
- Administer medications as directed
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic (emergency experience preferred but not required)
- Veterinary Technician certification/licensure (preferred but not required)
- Strong multitasking and critical thinking skills
- Ability to stay calm and efficient in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Availability to work weekends (required)
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
