The role of a relief Houseparent is, in every aspect, as vital to the safety and well being of our children as the primary Houseparent. The relief Houseparent provides continuity of care while allowing the primary Houseparent a few days to relax and enjoy time with their individual family.
Every 10 days our Houseparents are awarded 4 days off. To provide this we require relief Houseparents to step into the cottages and the lives of our children. This allows for much needed time off for our full-time Houseparents.
Relief Houseparents will move into the cottages for 4 days to provide the necessary nurturing required by our children, thus allowing much needed time off for our full-time Houseparents.
Those holding the relief position will meet the same criteria and abide by the same standard as applicable to all childcare staff.
