The Project Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing interior renovation and flooring projects from pre-construction through final completion. This position currently combines Project Manager and Job Supervisor responsibilities, serving as both the primary office-based project leader and the on-site supervisor.
This role is critical to delivering exceptional client experiences, maintaining strong financial performance, and upholding Paquin Interiors’ high standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reports directly to: General Manager / Company President
Currently supervises: Field staff, subcontractors, and jobsite activities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients once a project begins.
- Clearly communicate schedules, milestones, and expectations.
- Provide consistent weekly client updates on project progress.
- Schedule and facilitate all pre-construction meetings with internal team members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Conduct final project walk-throughs and ensure client satisfaction at project close-out.
Project Planning & Pre-Construction
- Coordinate with the Showroom Coordinator on product ordering, delivery schedules, dumpsters, and temporary facilities.
- Develop detailed project schedules and align them with draw schedules and selection deadlines.
- Conduct site visits prior to project start to confirm access, utilities, staging areas, and logistics.
Financial Management
- Draft and process change orders in coordination with administrative staff.
Construction & Jobsite Supervision (Current Combined Role)
- Oversee day-to-day jobsite operations, acting as the on-site Job Supervisor.
- Ensure quality control for all subcontractors and in-house labor.
- Schedule subcontractors a minimum of three weeks in advance.
- Verify materials, workmanship, and installations align with plans, specifications, and company standards.
- Maintain jobsite safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- Update project schedules weekly and ensure labor resources are properly allocated.
Team Leadership & Communication
- Maintain clear communication with the General Manager, showroom staff, designers, and subcontractors.
- Foster a respectful, accountable, and solution-oriented work environment.
- Hold team members to Paquin Interiors’ standards for professionalism, quality, and efficiency.
- Provide guidance, feedback, and support to field staff.
FLOORING & TILE MANAGEMENT (INTEGRATED ROLE)
In addition to Project Manager and Job Supervisor responsibilities, this role currently includes oversight of flooring and tile operations until a dedicated Flooring Manager position is established.
- Oversee all flooring and tile scopes for Paquin Interiors projects, including pricing, estimating, scheduling, and coordination with the Showroom Coordinator and subcontractors.
- Ensure all flooring and tile materials are properly selected, ordered, and available to meet project schedules.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings related to flooring and tile scopes and assist in resolving client questions or concerns.
- Coordinate flooring and tile work across Paquin Interiors and Paquin Design Build projects as required.
ACTUAL VS. ESTIMATE & COST CONTROL
- Review invoices and cost allocations related to assigned projects to ensure expenses are coded correctly against the approved estimate and budget.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Background in residential construction, remodeling, or interior renovation.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, and related installation processes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with subcontractors and managing jobsite logistics.
- Proficiency with project management software (CoConstruct or similar).
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience with design software such as 2020, CAD, or similar platforms.
- Leadership experience managing field staff or supervisors.
