Job Summary
LAMP is seeking a motivated and compassionate Housing Navigator to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness in securing and maintaining permanent housing. The Housing Navigator serves as a bridge between clients, landlords, property managers, and community resources, helping clients overcome barriers to housing stability.
This position requires strong organizational skills, relationship-building abilities, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHousing Search and Placement
- Assist clients in locating safe, affordable, and appropriate housing.
- Conduct housing assessments and develop individualized housing plans.
- Maintain a current inventory of available rental units and housing resources.
- Assist clients with housing applications, lease agreements, and move-in processes.
- Coordinate housing inspections and required documentation.
Landlord and Community Relations
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing providers.
- Recruit new landlords willing to work with program participants.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and landlords to resolve concerns and prevent housing loss.
- Conduct outreach to identify additional housing opportunities throughout the community.
Client Support
- Educate clients on tenant rights and responsibilities.
- Assist clients with budgeting, housing readiness, and maintaining housing stability.
- Coordinate referrals to employment, healthcare, behavioral health, and supportive services.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up after housing placement.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate client records and case notes.
- Track housing outcomes and program performance measures.
- Ensure compliance with funding requirements and program regulations.
- Complete reports and documentation in a timely manner.
Collaboration
- Work closely with case managers, shelter staff, Coordinated Entry partners, landlords, and community agencies.
- Participate in case staffing meetings and community planning efforts.
- Represent LAMP professionally within the community.
QualificationsRequired
- Associate's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business, Public Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and database systems.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Public Administration, or related field.
- Experience working in homelessness services, housing programs, property management, social services, or community development.
- Knowledge of landlord-tenant relations and housing resources.
- Experience with HMIS, Coordinated Entry, Rapid Re-Housing, ESG, HOME-ARP, or HUD-funded programs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel throughout the service area.
- Ability to conduct home visits and housing inspections.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
