The Mercer School District of Wisconsin is seeking applicants to fill our PreK - 12 Music Teaching vacancy in a small rural school in northern Wisconsin surrounded by lakes, rivers, cross country ski and ATV trails, and the world-famous Turtle Flambeau Flowage. Full-time position, Very Competitive salary & benefits.
This candidate should possess the ability to work with a broad range of students and should be prepared to teach elementary general music as well as middle and high school bands. Familiarity with percussion and choral pedagogy are also helpful. This individual should possess the following qualities and skills: flexibility, initiative, time management, classroom management, and dependability. Additionally, in order to carry out music-related administrative duties, the candidate should be an effective communicator and be ready to work closely with staff. In the classroom, the ideal candidate will encourage student ownership of musical traditions and standards of quality. Lastly, the candidate would be responsible for continuing a growing tradition of excellence in the Mercer School music program, and encourage family and community engagement.
