Currently seeking a General Manager for a busy pet resort. This position provides daily on-site management, leadership and control over the facility and its performance.
Main duties include but are not limited to :
- Create, communicate, monitor and enforce company policies, procedures and values throughout all departments
- Recommend changes, as needed, to policies and procedures and continually monitor for effectiveness
- Ensure that employees are aware of, and follow, established safety protocols AT ALL TIMES
- Manage facility and personnel, ensuring client and animal care services are provided within company procedures
- Help Owner with interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees and monitoring employee performances
- Control expenses and payroll
- Ensure that guest expectations are exceeded and client service issue escalations
- Develop business strategies to achieve company goals and ensure the appropriate appearance and necessary maintenance of the facility
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience directly managing a team of subordinates, as well as the ability to demonstrate the skills associated with both management and leadership
- Experience having worked with dogs
- General knowledge of business operations including some knowledge of the financial aspects
- Strong computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to make informed, solid decisions, sometimes very quickly and remain calm under pressure
- Well organized with strong time management skills
- Ability to be on one’s feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to find coverage for shifts and if not be able to cover shifts as needed.
