A respected and growing law firm in Carmel, Indiana is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation practice. The firm has more than 40 employees, including 11 attorneys, and is continuing to grow throughout Indiana and Illinois.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing firm. The position offers a potential path to partnership for the right attorney.
Compensation
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus

Responsibilities
- Meet with prospective clients, evaluate claims, and sign new cases
- Manage personal injury and workers' compensation cases from intake through settlement or litigation
- Develop case strategy and maintain strong client relationships
- Review medical records, insurance policies, and supporting documentation
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and defense counsel
- Handle medical liens and reduction negotiations
- Draft pleadings, settlement demands, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel
- Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys
- Participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and other litigation proceedings
- Accommodate occasional after-hours client meetings when necessary
Qualifications
- Active Indiana Bar license
- Personal injury and/or workers' compensation experience required
- Plaintiff-side experience preferred; defense experience will be considered
- Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and communication skills
- Excellent organization and case management abilities
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- Strong attention to detail and sound legal judgment
- Compassionate, client-focused approach
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Interest in long-term professional growth and advancement
