Experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Willing Street Law, of Milton, FL, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team. We are a family-owned and operated law firm with over 50 years of experience. As a paralegal, you will provide our clients with excellent service while maintaining confidentiality and quality assurance. Our firm focuses mainly on transactional cases, with some litigation. We handle a lot of Estate Planning and Probate, as well as Business Law and Real Estate. The paralegal is responsible for managing all aspects of client cases including a lot of drafting. Microsoft Word experience is required. This position requires strong communication skills both written and verbal, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and under pressure. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, punctual and detail-oriented, and will have the ability to work with multiple attorneys with varying work styles and requirements.
We are looking for a full or part-time team member, with hours ranging from 20-40 each week. The starting pay is $15.00, but may vary based on experience. Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming telephone calls.
- Calling clients to verify information, request needed information, or update them on their case.
- Answering the front office door as it remains locked.
- Checking the online case management system for new leads and contacting them to set up consultations or refer them elsewhere.
- Managing your attorney’s calendar, including scheduling of consultations and appointments.
- Getting all paperwork and invoices ready for daily consultations and meetings.
- Electronic filing of legal documents.
- Prepare and edit legal documents and correspondence including letters, memos, contracts, transactional documents (including deeds), estate documents such as wills, and reports.
- Printing and preparing documents required for meetings, including ensuring packets are created and ready for document signings.
- Organize and maintain client physical and electronic files.
- Prepare case files from various sources including, but not limited to, court dockets, trial papers, jury trials, hearings, and arbitration proceedings.
- Maintain client confidentiality through proper documentation, and maintain good working relationships with clients, lawyers, and insurance companies.
- Scheduling and coordinating meetings and conferences.
- Coordinate travel arrangements.
- Enter, edit, and/or finalize billable time and client billings utilizing an online platform.
- Research and respond to inquiries and requests for information.
- Provide other support as necessary.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information.
- Coordinate with external parties, such as opposing counsel, court personnel, and expert witnesses.
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform data entry and manage databases.
- Checking all files prior to closing to ensure all paperwork is up to date and printed.

Required Qualifications:
- 2 + years of legal experience is preferred.
- We are a small town firm and therefore do handle a variety of cases. Experience with probate, estate planning, and business formation is preferred, but not required.
- Individuals must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, exceptional organizational skills, and possess proficient computer skills.
- Be able to work independently, and have the ability to multi-task with time-sensitive work.
- While a lot of your work will be independent, we are a family atmosphere with strong team values. The ability to be comfortable working with close team members and assisting as needed is required.
- Be proactive and highly professional.
- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior Zoom experience required.
- Prior Case Management System experience a plus, but not required.
- Experience utilizing the Stamps.com platform a plus, but not required.
- Prior Lexis-Nexis research experience a plus, but not required.
- Client service focused.
