Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Immigration Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to immigration attorneys and paralegals by managing case files, preparing immigration documents (e.g., I-130, I-485, I-589), and assisting with client communications. Duties
- Assist attorneys with preparing and reviewing immigration documentation, petitions, and applications
- Manage case files using LawLogix or other document management systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Interview clients to gather pertinent information for case development and maintain detailed case notes
- Draft legal correspondence, affidavits, and supporting documents with precision and clarity
- Review legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Coordinate with clients, government agencies, and external partners to facilitate case progress
- Support administrative tasks including data entry, filing, scheduling appointments, and maintaining organized records
- Proofread all legal documents for errors before submission, ensuring high-quality work products
Experience
- Paralegal experience or similar legal administrative experience in an immigration law office setting (REQUIRED)
- Familiarity with immigration law procedures, forms, and processes is (REQUIRED)
- Experience working with document management systems such as LawLogix is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- Proven ability to communicate professionally via phone etiquette and written correspondence
- Demonstrated attention to detail in proofreading, transcription, and legal drafting tasks
- Ability to handle sensitive client information with discretion and confidentiality
Language
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish both written and spoken (REQUIRED)
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
