Company Overview:
We are a leading chemical and manufacturing facility operating in the South Jersey region. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Chemical Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate has strong working knowledge of cGMP standards, powder processing, and safe operation of material handling equipment.
Position Summary:
The Chemical Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting chemical production processes, specifically focusing on powder handling, blending, and liquid/powder filling lines. This role ensures all products are manufactured, packaged, and tracked in strict compliance with safety guidelines and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Powder & Filling Line Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor machinery used to measure, mix, and fill containers with various chemical products and powders.
- cGMP Compliance: Strictly adhere to cGMP protocols, maintain a clean work environment, and accurately document batch data, run sheets, and logbooks.
- Fork Truck Operations: Safely operate a fork truck and other power material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport raw materials and finished goods around the facility.
- Quality Control: Collect and handle product samples to ensure all liquids and powders meet specific gravity, pH, and product quality standards.
- Material Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and preparing equipment for sanitation, maintenance, and routine production startups.
- Safety Protocols: Follow all established safety plant procedures, which may include wearing specific personal protective equipment (PPE) such as full-face respirators or air suits.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree or certification in Process Technology is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or food/ingredient manufacturing.
- Specific Skills:
- Proven experience with powder blending and filling lines.
- Valid forklift certification or verifiable fork truck experience.
- Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Physical Demands: Must be able to work in a demanding manufacturing environment, stand for extended period lift up to 50lbs.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
