Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Oversee payroll management activities utilizing systems like ADP, Workday, Kronos, or UltiPro, including benefits administration and payroll tax filings.
- Conduct internal audits and support SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance efforts by documenting controls and testing procedures.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation and analysis of financial data for management review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects related to governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, or corporate finance initiatives.
- Support external audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and ensuring audit readiness.
Requirements
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting standards.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or UltiPro; experience with data entry and bookkeeping is essential.
- Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or Workday along with benefits administration processes.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial concepts and perform account reconciliation accurately.
- Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and account reconciliation procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with effective communication skills; ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
