The Senior EHS Specialist is responsible for owning, administering, and continuously improving Mevion’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert and site leader for all EHS-related activities, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
The Senior EHS Specialist partners closely with operations, engineering, manufacturing, facilities, and leadership teams to drive a proactive safety culture, reduce operational risk, and ensure environmental and regulatory compliance across the organization. This individual will lead EHS initiatives, manage compliance programs, conduct investigations and audits, and serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and internal EHS matters.
Own and administer Mevion’s Environmental, Health, and Safety management system.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NRC, DOT and applicable state/local regulations.
Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, job safety analyses, and corrective action programs.
Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Manage all required EHS reporting, recordkeeping, permits, and regulatory submissions.
Coordinate and lead internal audits, inspections, and regulatory agency interactions.
Develop and administer safety training programs, including onboarding, annual refreshers, and task-specific training.
Monitor and evaluate workplace conditions to identify environmental, health, and safety risks.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on injury prevention, compliance, and environmental stewardship.
Partner with operations and engineering teams to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into manufacturing processes, equipment, and facility changes.
Lead emergency preparedness and response planning activities.
Track, trend, and communicate EHS performance metrics to leadership.
Serve as the primary EHS advisor to site leadership and cross-functional teams.
