Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our independently owned small animal hospital. Compensation based on level of training, skill set, and overall expertise. Additional consideration given for leadership experience. The ideal candidate must be able to maintain a good sense of humor in a fast-paced environment, think quickly on their feet, and be willing and able to perform all aspects of the job. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians with various procedures and treatments.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform animal restraint and catheterization as needed.
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide nursing care, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to minimize infection risks.
- Handle and care for animals in a safe and humane manner, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Participate in dental cleanings and understand dental terminology related to veterinary practices.
- Utilize your formal training to implement anesthetic protocols under the supervision of the attending veterinary surgeon.
- Support kennel operations, including cleaning, feeding, and exercising animals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
