Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, ensuring that all vehicles operate efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment maintenance, particularly with heavy construction equipment and on-road fleet vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose equipment for potential problems and report mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems as well as damaged parts.
- Repair and/or service the equipment as instructed by Service Manager.
- Able to identify parts and related supplies.
- Knowledge in electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Competent in reading schematic drawings and isolate problems.
- Properly complete service and / or repairs assigned by supervisor.
- Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
- Maintain your designated workspace in an organized and clean manner.
- Maintain inside your field service truck (if applicable).
- Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.
Experience
- At least 3 years of equipment shop or fleet experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Aptitude in using a multimeter is beneficial.
- Stick welding. Any other types of welding is a plus.
- Operate heavy equipment to move in and out of shop floor or jobsite.
- Cummins InSite software.
- Familiar with Cat, John Deere, Case, Bomag, Bobcat, Volvo & Dynapac equipment.
- Experience with working on paving equipment, rollers, skip loaders, dump trucks, on-road class 8 down to F-150 trucks, diesel trucks & equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
