Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Poured Core Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining equipment used in the production of poured cores, which are essential components in casting and molding processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with CNC and CAM programming, and a thorough understanding of blueprint reading and precision measurement. As a pivotal member of our production line, you will ensure that poured cores meet strict quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes within a dynamic industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate pouring machinery and CNC equipment, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and stamping presses, ensuring optimal performance.
- Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) such as Fanuc systems to maintain smooth operations.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production documents accurately to produce precise poured cores.
- Perform dimensional measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify product specifications.
- Maintain safety standards by following proper procedures for handling industrial equipment and materials handling protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery like press brake machines and flexo presses to prevent downtime.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, including packaging finished products and managing materials efficiently.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly using shop math, factory experience, and technical knowledge to minimize production delays.
- Document production activities accurately while adhering to quality control procedures and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements based on operational observations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machining equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or CNC programming environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint reading, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment troubleshooting, factory safety standards, and quality control measures.
- Proficiency in using CAD software like SolidWorks for interpreting technical drawings.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (Fanuc or similar systems) for machine automation.
- Ability to perform precise measurements with micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments; understanding of GD&T principles.
- Experience with shop math, materials handling, assembly line operations, and packaging within a manufacturing setting.
- Basic math skills necessary for process calculations and quality assessments.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in factory or manufacturing environments.
- Strong communication skills for interpreting technical documents and collaborating effectively with team members.
If you are committed to precision craftsmanship in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possess the technical expertise outlined above, we encourage you to apply. Join us in producing high-quality poured cores that meet rigorous industry standards.
