Duties
- Conduct detailed electrical diagnostics and functional testing on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and assembled electronic systems using diagnostic tools, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other measurement instruments.
- Perform surface mount technology (SMT) inspections, soldering, rework, and repair to ensure compliance with IPC 610 standards for electronic assemblies.
- Utilize automated optical inspection (AOI) systems and manual visual inspections to identify defects or inconsistencies in electronic components and solder joints.
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and circuit diagrams to troubleshoot issues accurately and efficiently.
- Execute RF (radio frequency) testing procedures to verify signal integrity and compliance with specifications.
- Collect data during testing processes, document results meticulously, and analyze findings to support quality assurance initiatives.
- Support process improvements by assisting in test automation development, calibration of precision measuring instruments, and implementing best practices for electrical safety procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience with surface mount technology (SMT), PCB assembly inspection, and soldering techniques aligned with IPC 610 standards.
- Strong knowledge of electronics functional testing, voltage testing, component testing, circuit testing, and RF testing methodologies.
- Skilled in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation for troubleshooting engineering issues.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, calipers, micrometers, and digital multimeters for precise measurements.
- Ability to perform electrical safety procedures diligently while working with energized circuits or sensitive electronic equipment.
- Experience with automated optical inspection (AOI), data collection systems, and test automation software is highly desirable.
- Mechanical aptitude including familiarity with hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers, tweezers; ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing issues quickly; strong attention to detail for quality control inspections.
- Effective communication skills to interpret schematics clearly and collaborate within cross-functional teams on troubleshooting efforts.
