Position Overview
BioTerra is an innovative geothermal research company dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions through scientific research, field exploration, and technology development. We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Business Administrator to oversee daily administrative operations, support executive leadership, and ensure efficient business processes across the organization.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee daily administrative and operational activities.
- Manage company records, contracts, and confidential documentation.
- Prepare reports, budgets, invoices, and financial summaries.
- Assist with project scheduling, resource planning, and administrative support for research teams.
- Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, and company events.
- Monitor office expenditures and maintain vendor relationships.
- Support procurement of office supplies, laboratory equipment, and operational resources.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Develop and improve administrative procedures to increase efficiency.
- Assist Human Resources with employee onboarding, recordkeeping, and internal communications.
- Support grant administration, research documentation, and funding compliance when required.
- Serve as a liaison between management, research staff, external partners, and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of administrative or business operations experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.
- Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, or project management software is a plus.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting scientific research, engineering, energy, environmental, or technology organizations.
- Familiarity with grant administration and research funding processes.
- Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
