Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, across assigned routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo securing and adherence to hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, optimizing delivery schedules and maintaining route driving accuracy
- Transport automobile parts or vehicles via automobile transportation services, ensuring secure loading and unloading procedures
- Manage logistics cargo handling tasks such as freight inspection, documentation, and proper placement within trailers
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance with all safety protocols
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record demonstrating safe driving habits
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across OTR routes
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, or tractor-trailers preferred
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks related to load & unload operations
- Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for efficient route planning
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and customers
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually when necessary and perform routine vehicle inspections
