Job Summary
Horizon Telepsychiatry is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-centered Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing practice as a 1099 Independent Contractor. This position is currently fully remote (telehealth); however, providers must be willing to transition to an in-person role in the future as the practice expands.
The ideal candidate is committed to delivering evidence-based, high-quality psychiatric care while providing a compassionate and supportive experience for every patient. This position involves conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, prescribing medications, and providing ongoing medication management through our secure telehealth platform.
Horizon Telepsychiatry provides administrative support, patient scheduling, billing, credentialing, marketing, and access to the Tebra electronic health record (EHR), allowing providers to focus on delivering exceptional patient care. Compensation is based on a percentage of collections and varies according to patient volume.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for new patients.
- Diagnose and treat a wide variety of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's clinical needs.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications in accordance with Florida and federal regulations.
- Provide medication management and follow-up appointments through telehealth.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant documentation in the Tebra Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Complete clinical documentation, medication refills, and patient communications promptly.
- Collaborate with office staff to ensure continuity of care and excellent patient experiences.
- Follow all HIPAA, DEA, Florida Board of Nursing, and professional practice standards.
- Maintain professionalism and excellent bedside manner while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
QualificationsRequired
- Active, unrestricted Florida APRN License
- Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Active DEA Registration (Required)
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ability to prescribe controlled substances in accordance with federal and Florida regulations
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote telehealth environment
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and private workspace for telehealth appointments
Preferred
- Previous outpatient psychiatry or telepsychiatry experience
- Experience treating adolescents and adults
- Familiarity with Tebra or other Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
