American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a cancer hospital, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience, Epic proficiency, and an OH or compact RN license.

Work setting is a Medical ICU (MICU) within a cancer hospital
-
Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients
-
Common diagnoses include oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleed, neuromuscular disease, drug overdose, pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and sepsis
-
Common treatments include mechanical ventilation, pulmonary artery catheter placement, CRRT, arterial pressure monitoring, cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, central venous catheters, chemotherapy administration, complex medication regimens, clinical trials, and plasmapheresis

Many patients have underlying pulmonary and GI conditions requiring bronchoscopy or endoscopy

Charting is performed in Epic (required)

13-week contract

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30

Schedule may rotate between days and nights based on departmental staffing needs; shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period

Active OH or compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of MICU or ICU experience required

Proficiency with mechanical ventilators required

IV insertion skills required

Epic EMR experience required

2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to placement and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or fewer

Former employees of this facility are eligible to apply after a 6-month separation period

Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly after accepting an assignment; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
