About the Role
The Medical Receptionist is a crucial link between patients and the care delivered by our clinical and support staff. Working collaboratively with medical, behavioral health, and case management teams, this role fosters a welcoming environment while performing essential front and back office functions across our Health Center locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to various clinic locations throughout Pinellas County
- Greet, check in/out, and register patients for medical care and behavioral health services
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments, including reminder calls
- Conduct insurance verification and accurately collect and document copays
- Enter personal, financial, and insurance information into the EMR
- Answer patient and client phone calls
- Support office operations and clinical staff with various administrative tasks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with an EMR
- Minimum 2 years of primary care office administrative experience
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and EMR/EHR software
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
- Must be able to speak, read, and write proficiently in English; bilingual a plus
- Valid Florida driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation
- Must pass Level II background check, fingerprinting, and E-Verify employment eligibility
