The Sign Welder / Structural Fabricator is responsible for welding and fabricating structural components used in commercial signage, including monument signs, pylon signs, cabinet signs, pan signs, and channel letter support structures. This position requires experience with steel, aluminum, and pipe fabrication, ensuring all structures meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
Weld and fabricate structural components for commercial signage including:
· Monument sign structures
· Pylon sign poles and pipe structures
· Pan sign frames
· Cabinet sign structures
· Channel letter raceways and support frames
· Perform MIG welding (and TIG when required) on steel and aluminum materials.

· Fabricate pipe supports, sign poles, and structural frames for sign installations.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication prints.
Use fabrication equipment such as:
· Band saws
· Drill presses
· Ironworkers

· Plasma cutters
· Ensure all welds meet quality and structural standards.
· Perform layout, measuring, and material preparation before welding.
· Work closely with fabrication, installation, and engineering teams.
· Maintain a safe and organized work environment following OSHA standard requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of welding or structural fabrication experience.
Experience welding steel and aluminum.
Ability to read fabrication drawings and structural prints.
Experience working with pipe, square tubing, and structural steel.
Proficiency with MIG welding (TIG is a plus).
Strong knowledge of metal fabrication tools and equipment.
Ability to lift 50–75 lbs.
Attention to detail and strong craftsmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in sign manufacturing or commercial signage fabrication.
Knowledge of pylon sign structures and monument sign fabrication.
Certification in welding (AWS or similar) is a plus.
Experience with large structural sign frames and sign cabinets.
Work Environment
Manufacturing / fabrication shop environment.
Exposure to welding equipment, metal materials, dust, and fabrication machinery.
Requires standing, lifting, and working with heavy structural components.
