The Business Technology Manager is responsible for developing data analytics tools, standardizing project management processes, and providing day‑to‑day IT support. The role also collaborates closely with the accounting team to ensure continuity of operations when coverage is needed. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically skilled, and comfortable working in a small‑company environment where flexibility and initiative are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Business Intelligence
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and automated reports for project performance, cost tracking, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain and improve BI tools (Power BI, Excel, SQL‑based systems).
- Integrate data from ERP, accounting, and project management platforms.
- Provide insights to leadership to support decision‑making and forecasting.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the company.
Project Management Office (PMO)
- Establish and maintain project management standards, templates, and workflows.
- Support project managers with scheduling, documentation, reporting, and risk tracking.
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables through dashboards and PMO tools.
- Assist with resource planning and workload management.
- Promote best practices in project execution and communication.
IT Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for basic IT support needs (hardware, software, connectivity).
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors for network, cybersecurity, and system maintenance.
- Maintain company devices, software licenses, and technology inventory.
- Support implementation of new tools, systems, and digital workflows.
Accounting Support (As Needed)
- Provide backup support during staff time off or peak workload periods.
- Assist with basic accounting tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, job cost updates, and reconciliations.
- Ensure alignment between project data, cost codes, and accounting records.
- Support month‑end processes when required.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Accounting, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, IT support, project coordination, or similar roles.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and data analysis.
- Experience with project management tools and workflows.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic IT issues (Windows, Office 365, networking basics).
- Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a small‑team environment.
Preferred
- Experience in the construction industry or other project‑based environments.
- Familiarity with ERP or construction management systems (Procore, Sage, Viewpoint, Buildertrend).
- Knowledge of accounting workflows or job costing.
- Experience with SQL, cloud platforms, or automation tools.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
