Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will support the management of multifamily residential communities by handling leasing activities, ensuring property maintenance, and delivering exceptional customer service. Your proactive approach will help foster positive resident relationships and uphold the highest standards of property operations.
Duties
- Manage resident accounts, including rent processing, lease administration, renewals, ledger maintenance, data entry, and resident communication.
- Respond to prospective tenants and address questions regarding qualifications and rental requirements during the application process.
- Review and process incoming rental applications for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate and communicate move-in and move-out procedures with residents and staff.
- Assist with rent collection and deposit tracking.
- Enter and manage bills for accounting purposes; accrual accounting experience preferred.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team through regular meetings, task coordination, and daily operational support to ensure quality service for residents.
- Conduct routine on-site property inspections and walkthroughs.
- Communicate with the City of East Orange regarding lease renewals, Certificates of Occupancy (COO) applications, and related compliance matters.
Requirements
- Previous experience in real estate administration or property management is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing regulations, Fair Housing laws, and landlord-tenant law.
- Proficiency with property management software such as Buildium, or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with experience in data entry, filing systems, and office administration.
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in property leasing, customer service excellence, and facilities management is a plus.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
