About NovalabNovalab Corp is a growing CLIA-certified, COLA-accredited clinical reference laboratory committed to providing high-quality diagnostic testing throughout the United States. We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Billing Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team.
Responsibilities
- Submit and manage laboratory insurance claims.
- Process commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid claims.
- Follow up on unpaid and denied claims.
- Appeal claim denials and resolve billing issues.
- Post ERAs, EFTs, and insurance payments.
- Reconcile payments and identify underpayments.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility.
- Work with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and laboratory billing guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with payer policies and laboratory regulations.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status.
- Collaborate with laboratory operations and management to improve collections.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of laboratory billing experience (required).
- Experience with reference laboratory billing strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Modifier 90, laboratory CPT coding, and payer requirements.
- Strong experience with denial management and appeals.
- Understanding of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid billing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Out-of-network laboratory billing.
- Horizon BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Electronic claim submission and ERA/EFT reconciliation.
- Experience with laboratory information systems and billing software.
- Excel proficiency.

- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Medical billing: 2 years (Preferred)
- Laboratory billing : 1 year (Preferred)
