Duties
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VLANs, and wireless networks using Cisco routers, switches, and Meraki devices.
- Configure and support network hardware such as RAID controllers, SAN (Storage Area Network), and load balancers to ensure high availability and data integrity.
- Manage network security protocols including Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco ISE for identity services, VPN configurations, PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), LDAP authentication, and system hardening practices.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues involving routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP; network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS; and network hardware to minimize downtime.
- Oversee system administration tasks across multiple operating systems including Windows, Linux distributions like Debian, CentOS, openSUSE, Ubuntu, Solaris, BSD variants; perform system troubleshooting and perform regular vulnerability assessments using tools like Splunk and SolarWinds.
- Support virtualization environments such as VMware vSphere and ESXi; manage cloud platforms like AWS and Azure; implement disaster recovery strategies ensuring high availability through load balancing techniques.
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash scripting, Ansible or other DevOps tools to streamline operations; monitor network performance with PRTG or SolarWinds; conduct regular security audits to safeguard organizational data.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), IP networking fundamentals, VLANs, QoS policies, Ethernet switching, and network architecture design.
- Proficiency with Cisco networking equipment—routers (Cisco routers), switches (Cisco switches), ASA firewalls—and Meraki solutions for cloud-managed networks.
- Strong understanding of network security measures such as VPN configuration (IPsec & SSL), SSO integration, encryption standards, vulnerability assessment techniques, IDS/IPS systems.
- Hands-on experience with operating systems including Windows Server environments and various Linux distributions; familiarity with system hardening practices.
- Ability to configure and support enterprise-grade storage solutions like SANs; manage Active Directory environments; implement GPOs (Group Policy Objects) for centralized management.
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell for automation purposes; experience with DevOps tools like Ansible for configuration management.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools including SolarWinds or PRTG; experience with SFTP/FTP/HTTPS protocols for secure data transfer; familiarity with open-source tools like Nagios or Zabbix is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills in technical troubleshooting support across diverse IT infrastructure components; excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Pay: $26.81 - $32.29 per hour
