Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credential for the state of California
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
- Familiarity with developing and working from IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to supporting students of varying abilities and backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and adapt lesson plans to accommodate individual student needs
- Develop, review, and update IEPs, collaborating with staff, families, and service providers
- Monitor and document student progress, using data to adjust instructional strategies
- Create a supportive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights for student development
- Provide guidance, strategies, and resources to general education staff as needed
