The Opportunity
We are looking for a Warehouse, Inventory & Procurement Manager to join our operations team in Fairfield, Iowa. This is a hands-on, full-time, onsite role that sits at the center of how our projects get built. The right person will ensure that the right materials, equipment, and tools are where they need to be — on time, in full, and accurately tracked — so our field crews can do their best work.
Beyond the day-to-day, this role carries a meaningful opportunity: as Ideal Energy continues to grow, you will play a key part in building out our inventory systems, procurement processes, and operational infrastructure. This is a position for someone who takes pride in well-run operations and wants to leave a lasting mark on how our company functions.
What You’ll Do
Warehouse Operations

Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.

Receive, inspect, and log all incoming equipment and materials.

Coordinate outbound material deployments to project sites, working with Project Managers and field crews.

Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and in compliance with OSHA standards.

Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.

Build and maintain a well-documented warehouse organization system that any team member can navigate independently.
Inventory Control

Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records across modules, racking, inverters, conduit, wire, hardware, and other project materials.

Identify low-stock conditions early and coordinate restocking before shortages impact field operations.

Track serialized and high-value equipment from receiving through deployment.

Reconcile inventory records against project BOMs and purchase orders on an ongoing basis.

Take an active role in evaluating and implementing a new inventory management system to support Ideal Energy’s growth.
Tool Management

Administer Ideal Energy’s tool management system (ShareMyToolbox), maintaining accurate records of all company tools.

Manage the tool checkout process and conduct periodic tool audits.

Proactively flag missing, damaged, or aging equipment for repair or replacement.
Procurement Support

Manage BOM tracking at the job level, ensuring material needs are identified early and orders are placed on schedule.

Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineers to confirm material specifications, quantities, and delivery timelines.

Obtain quotes, issue purchase orders, and track order status through delivery.

Maintain proactive communication with vendors on long lead items, escalating delays early and keeping the project team informed.

Maintain organized procurement records including POs, invoices, packing slips, and vendor communications.

Support vendor relationships and contribute to evaluating supplier performance.
What You Bring
-
3+ years of experience in warehouse management, inventory control, or a related field.

Valid forklift certification, or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.

Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with comfort learning new inventory or project management software.

Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

The ability to work independently, take ownership of systems, and follow through without close supervision.
Bonus Points For:

Experience in the solar, construction, or electrical contracting industry.

Exposure to project-level material tracking or BOM management.

Experience building or implementing inventory management systems.

Familiarity with ShareMyToolbox, Procore, Sage, or similar platforms.
