Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, infection control, and patient education. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dentist and dental assistants to deliver comprehensive care and maintain a positive patient experience.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Eaglesoft.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide four-handed dentistry support during procedures.
- Conduct periodontal assessments and apply fluoride treatments as needed.
- Utilize medical coding for proper documentation of procedures and treatments.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Experience
- A valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist is required.
- Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards is essential.
- Experience with dental assisting duties is a plus, enhancing collaboration within the team.
- Proficiency in using Eaglesoft or similar dental management software is advantageous but not mandatory.
