Event Assistant
Location: Fox Chase Farm, Philadelphia, PA

Compensation: $88.44 per day
Overview
Fox Chase Farm is seeking energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Event Assistants to help create outstanding experiences for visitors, students, and community members during farm events and programs.
Working under the direction of the Event Coordinator, Event Assistants play a hands-on role in preparing for, supporting, and breaking down events while providing exceptional customer service throughout the day. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, interacting with the public, and being part of a collaborative team.
Event Assistants will also be cross-trained in multiple areas of farm operations to provide additional support during events and ensure seamless coverage wherever assistance is needed. This role is designed for team members who are adaptable, proactive, and willing to contribute wherever the Farm needs them most.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, signage, tents, equipment, and activity stations
- Welcome visitors and provide a friendly, engaging, and informative experience throughout the event
- Support vendors, exhibitors, volunteers, and community partners with basic logistical needs
- Assist with children's activities, educational stations, tours, and community programming
- Help direct parking, visitor flow, and crowd management as needed
- Monitor event spaces to ensure they remain clean, organized, safe, and well-stocked throughout the day
- Assist with basic event logistics, including distributing materials, managing supplies, and supporting activity leaders
- Respond professionally to visitor questions and escalate concerns to the Event Coordinator when appropriate
- Support Farm staff with pre-event preparation and post-event cleanup
- Serve as an ambassador for Fox Chase Farm by promoting a welcoming, educational, and inclusive environment
- Cross-train in various areas of farm operations, including educational programming, visitor services, farm store support, volunteer assistance, and other operational functions to ensure flexibility and full event coverage
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support Farm operations and public programming
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when assigned tasks
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and remain active throughout the workday
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assist wherever needed
- Experience in events, hospitality, recreation, education, or customer service is preferred but not required
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus
Pay Structure
- $88.40 per 6-hour day
- $44.21 per 3-hour day
