Overview:
You will provide professional nursing services to hospice patients or supervise the provision of nursing services aimed towards enrolling hospice patients in accordance with accepted standards of practice and guidelines.

Who we are:
Hospice of Michigan is a nonprofit organization who serves 54 counties across the state of Michigan. Hospice of Michigan was founded in 1980 by a group of volunteers in Southeastern Michigan, and in 1994 became a statewide organization when it merged with 10 community-based hospices. We provide care for all—regardless of age, diagnosis, or ability to pay.
How you will make an impact:
- You will complete a comprehensive and initial and ongoing assessment of:
- Patient and family to determine hospice needs
- The impact of the terminal diagnosis on the patient’s physical, functional, psychosocial grief, cultural and spiritual implications, and verbal non-verbal communication patterns
- You will assist in developing, implanting, evaluating, and updating the plan of care and make recommendations plan revisions as needed
- You will work with the interdisciplinary team to prioritize and provide patient and family-oriented hospice services.
What you need:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with possession of a current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of varied nursing experience required.
