Class A CDL Dump Truck / Side Dump Driver

We are a well-established civil construction, excavation, and dirt work company based in Buckley, Washington, seeking an experienced Class A CDL Dump Truck / Side Dump Driver to join our team. This is a full-time, local driving position for a dependable, safety-focused professional who takes pride in their equipment, communicates well, and represents the company with professionalism on every job site.
Our drivers haul materials, equipment, and machinery between company locations, vendors, suppliers, pits, dump sites, and construction projects throughout the region. We are looking for someone who can work independently, follow direction, stay organized, and operate safely in changing job site and road conditions.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will safely operate dump trucks, side dumps, trailers, and related equipment while supporting daily construction operations. Key responsibilities include:
· Safely and efficiently operate dump trucks, side dumps, and tractor-trailer combinations.
· Transport and deliver dirt, aggregates, equipment, machinery, and materials to and from job sites, pits, dump sites, vendors, suppliers, and company locations.
· Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
· Confirm loads are properly secured, balanced, and within legal axle weight limits.
· Keep trucks, trailers, and equipment clean, safe, and job-ready.
· Communicate professionally with dispatch, supervisors, loaders, scale staff, site crews, coworkers, customers, and vendors.
· Maintain accurate logs, tickets, paperwork, and required records.
· Follow all company policies, safety standards, and applicable state and federal DOT regulations.
· Work safely in varying weather, traffic, rural, suburban, and active construction site conditions.
· Represent the company in a professional, dependable, and ethical manner.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is an experienced, reliable Class A CDL driver who understands construction trucking and takes pride in doing the job safely and correctly.
· Valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement.
· Current DOT medical card.
· Dump truck, side dump, or heavy-haul experience required; 2+ years preferred.
· Clean, insurable driving record.
· Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions preferred.
· Knowledge of local roads, gravel pits, dump sites, and construction job sites is a plus.
· Ability to safely couple and uncouple trailers and connect air and electrical lines.
· Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions from dispatch and job site leads.
· Drug-free and able to pass DOT-required drug testing.
· Dependable, punctual, safety-minded, and willing to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
· Able to climb in and out of truck cabs, trailers, and truck boxes.
· Able to walk and work on uneven ground and active construction sites.
· Able to lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
· Able to shovel, scrape, and clean truck boxes when required.
· Able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Schedule

Required License / Certification

Preferred Experience
· Dump truck, side dump, or heavy-haul driving experience.
· Construction, excavation, aggregate hauling, or dirt work experience.
· Experience working around active job sites, pits, loaders, and scale houses.
