Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs patient care duties. The LPN provides care based on the Nurse Practice Act and his/her assessed competency utilizing hospital established standards of care and practice. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.
Qualifications:

Vocational Training

Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program

Completion of a 30-hour IV Therapy Course for LPNs approved by the Florida Board of Nursing pursuant to Rule 64B9-5.006

Less than one (1) year of training as an LPN

Adheres to hospital policies and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care

Demonstrates effective problem-solving and communication skills with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals

One (1) year of geriatric experience as an LPN
-
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Licensed to practice Practical Nursing in the State of Florida

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
