Job Description:We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Reading Intervention Specialist to join our team. You will be working one-on-one with students in their homes, delivering tailored reading instruction that supports their individual needs. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives by helping them develop the skills they need to succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide explicit phonics instruction to students (ages 5-10)
- Assess students' reading levels and tailor lessons to meet their needs
- Work closely with team to ensure that students are receiving the best instruction
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students and families
- Regularly communicate progress with families
- Adapt instructional methods to suit each student’s learning style
- Travel to students' homes within Orange County
Requirements:
- Valid teaching credential
- Classroom experience in teaching reading, preferably with phonics based instruction
- Knowledge of phonics and reading intervention strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to students' homes
- Willingness to create positive, lasting relationships with students and families
- Afternoon/evening or morning availability for in-home sessions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with explicit phonics instruction programs
- Special education experience is a plus
Compensation:Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.
