Job Description
Tucson Rug Cleaning Company is seeking a reliable, professional, and customer-focused Delivery Driver / Rug Delivery Technician to join our team.
This position is responsible for safely picking up and delivering area rugs, communicating with customers inside their homes, moving furniture when necessary, and carefully handling customers’ property. The right candidate will have a clean driving record, excellent time-management skills, strong physical stamina, and a professional attitude.
This is more than a driving position. Our delivery team represents the company in customers’ homes, so professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and respectful customer service are essential.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a company vehicle to scheduled pickup and delivery appointments
- Follow daily routes, schedules, and dispatch instructions
- Arrive at customer appointments on time and communicate professionally
- Pick up, transport, and deliver area rugs without causing damage
- Carefully move and replace furniture when necessary
- Roll, wrap, carry, load, and unload rugs of different sizes and weights
- Inspect rugs and surrounding areas before removing or reinstalling them
- Maintain accurate delivery, pickup, and customer-service records
- Communicate delays, scheduling issues, or customer concerns to dispatch
- Use hand tools and sharp utility knives safely when cutting rug padding or packaging materials
- Keep the company vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained
- Follow company procedures for handling rugs affected by insects, animal waste, human waste, or other potentially hazardous materials
- Work cooperatively with the cleaning, office, and delivery teams
Requirements
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- Clean driving record for the past five years
- Strong customer-service skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to follow schedules and dispatch instructions
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, bend, stand, and move throughout the workday
- Ability to safely move rugs and furniture
- Professional, neat, and clean appearance
- Dependable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be willing and available to work Saturdays
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous delivery-driving, moving, furniture-delivery, or in-home service experience
- Knowledge of area-rug materials, construction, and origins
- Experience safely moving furniture and handling valuable household items
- Familiarity with dispatching, route planning, or scheduled service appointments
- Knowledge of safe procedures for handling contaminated or pest-affected rugs
Previous rug-industry experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
