Field Laborer / Welder
Inland Crane, Inc., Idaho’s premier crane company, provides crane services and other specialty services throughout the Northwest.
We are looking for a dependable, hard-working Field Laborer / Welder to join our team. This is a field-based position, not a shop welding position. The ideal candidate will have welding experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the willingness to perform a wide variety of hands-on work in support of crane operations, specialty projects, construction activities, and field installations.
Travel is an expected part of this position. Work may take place throughout Idaho and across the Northwest, depending on project needs. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors, traveling to job sites, working varying schedules, and taking on different responsibilities as projects require.
We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including retirement benefits, health insurance, and paid vacation.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
- Welding experience required; field welding experience strongly preferred
- Experience with FCAW, GMAW, and/or GTAW processes is preferred
- Perform welding, cutting, fitting, fabrication, repairs, and modifications in field environments
- Assist with general labor and hands-on field work as required
- Support crane operations, specialty projects, equipment mobilization, and job-site activities
- Assist with installation, assembly, rigging-related work, and other project needs based on experience and qualifications
- Ability and willingness to travel for out-of-town projects
- Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather and job-site conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and working on uneven terrain
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow instructions, adapt to changing job-site conditions, and complete assigned work safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Consistently follow company safety policies and safe work practices
- Must be punctual, dependable, quality-conscious, and willing to do what is needed to help the team complete the job
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is more than just a welder. The right person is willing to work, travel, learn, and take on a variety of responsibilities. Some days may involve welding and fabrication; other days may involve field installation, equipment setup, general labor, or supporting specialty crane and construction projects.
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing the job right, and is comfortable working in changing environments rather than performing the same task every day.
