Job Summary
Join our culinary team as a Prep Cook and/or Meat Cutter, where your passion for food and dedication to quality will shine. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. Ideal candidates should thrive in fast-paced settings and love working somewhat independently. Meat Cutters should have strong attention to detail and ability to follow guidelines to meet specifications on all steak cuts. Pay rates are determined in accordance with experience, work history, and availability.
These are morning positions. Reliability and punctuality are a must. Shifts typically begin between 8AM and 9AM.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning according to recipe specifications
- Assist in assembling menu items with precision and attention to detail
- Follow food safety standards and proper handling procedures at all times
- Support cooking processes by measuring, mixing, and preparing components of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
Requirements
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Self-driven with a sense of urgency towards tasks
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Prior food preparation or kitchen experience in restaurants or food service settings preferred
- Knowledge of food handling safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking techniques
- Ability to follow detailed recipes
- Familiarity with food industry best practices is a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving others
