Job Summary:
The Therapist provides assessment, treatment planning, and individual, couples, family and group counseling to clients through the use of a variety of therapeutic interventions with the goal of promoting mental health, recovery and wellness
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide comprehensive assessment and treatment planning as appropriate to the clinical setting.
· Provide individual, couples, family and group counseling as appropriate to the clinical setting.
· Ensure treatment is individualized, appropriate and culturally competent.
· Ensure all clinical duties are performed confidentially, ethically and in accordance with state, federal, agency and licensing requirements.
· Ensure clinical documentation is maintained confidentially, accurately and in accordance with state, federal, agency and licensing requirements.
· Maintain billing records that are accurate and up-to-date on a daily basis.
· Participate in team meetings’, staffing’s and case presentations as deemed appropriate.
· Facilitate referrals to community resources and ensure proper documentation.
· Acts as a linkage between the agency and community partners.
Education and Experience Requirements:
· A Bachelors Degree in behavioral health, human service or related field is required.
· Two years relevant experience preferred.
· Experience in social service environment preferred.
· A valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
· Must have CFAR or FAR certification in order to bill for assessment services.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Must have knowledgeable of 65D-30 standards.
· Must have the ability to counsel clients.
· A valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record are required. Must be able to provide own transportation.
· Must be eligible for Level 2 DCF Background Screening approval. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
· Computer competency required.
· Must possess excellent organizational skills.
· Must have the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
· Experience in a social service environment is preferred.
· Ability to interact with people from diverse cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds. Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits with clients.
