Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating cranes and other heavy machinery. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment, contributing to the overall success of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate cranes and heavy equipment, including forklift, track mobile, Fuchs mobile crane and baler as required.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality before use.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate lifting operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain clear communication with ground personnel using hand signals or radio communication during lifting operations.
- Perform routine maintenance on cranes and heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks on the construction site.
- Document daily activities, including equipment usage and any incidents that occur during operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in crane operation.
- Familiarity with various types of machinery such as concrete mixers, front loader trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tankers, and farm machinery is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency; three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality manuals, operational procedures and work instructions.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Knowledge of metric system, ability to work with computers and mechanically inclined.
