We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk, including scheduling appointments and answering multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes efficiently.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and assisting with intake procedures.
- Assist dentists during procedures by handing instruments, maintaining sterilization protocols, and ensuring clinical supplies are stocked.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate documentation review and record keeping.
- Process billing and collections using medical billing software, including Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth platforms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing medical records and handling sensitive health information securely.
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and clerical support to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks, or Meditech; familiarity with Epic or Athenahealth is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing.
- Experience in dental clinic settings or healthcare environments with a focus on medical office management and administrative support.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with phone etiquette and effective communication abilities across diverse patient populations.
- Ability to handle medical collection processes confidently while maintaining professionalism and accuracy in documentation review.
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve a diverse patient base effectively.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications for scheduling, correspondence, and record keeping; familiarity with office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft enhances efficiency.
