Hamilton Wenham Regional School District is looking for a highly motivated, student-centered Educational Support Professional (ESP) at Cutler Elementary School. We are seeking a candidate who is flexible and comfortable working directly with students with social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges. The candidate will perform duties that are instructional in nature and provide support students with acquiring social and behavioral skills. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructional ProcessWorks with the teacher in planning and implementing a program of instruction that adheres to the schools philosophy, goals, and objectives.Works with the teacher in creating a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate support strategies.
Classroom ManagementWorks with the teacher in the implementation, in accordance with school guidelines, of reasonable rules of classroom behavior and appropriate techniques that are consistently applied to support learning.Works with the teacher in taking necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Shares responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in all areas of the school. Public RelationsUpholds and enforces board policy, administrative procedures, and school rules and regulations, and is supportive of them to the public.Maintains appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance, and appropriate use of consultation time.Strives to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed.Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with other staff members. Professional GrowthContinues professional growth through attendance at workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning.Attends staff and committee meetings as required. Student EvaluationWorks with the teacher to evaluate student progress through observation of students social and behavioral skills and accurate data collection.Works with the teacher in providing appropriate accommodations and modifications across the school setting, as designated by student IEPs and/or behavior plans.Respects the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state and federal laws.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree preferredAt least 2 years of relevant experience preferred; Committed to working with a student centered, team-based model required;Ability to lift and position up to 50 pounds required; Able to actively participate in classroom activities that may require bending, lifting and floor time required;Able to support and assist with basic life and self-care skills if necessary.Flexibility, creativity and adaptability required.
