Position Overview
The SWP Sales Representative is responsible for developing and growing Specialty Wood Product sales within assigned accounts and markets. This role focuses on identifying custom product solutions, managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and driving profitable sales growth. The position operates with a high level of independence while supporting overall company revenue and margin objectives.

Essential Functions

Develop and sell Specialty Wood Product solutions that meet customer needs while maintaining healthy profit margins.

Make outbound sales calls to prospective and established customers to promote programs, specials, and future partnership opportunities.

Identify specialty product solutions not typically stocked and coordinate value-added processes through vendor networks.

Negotiate re manufacturing costs and select appropriate vendors based on margin, service, and customer requirements.

Maintain and expand network of value-added vendors and primary manufacturers to support long-term growth.

Travel to assigned customers as needed, at minimum quarterly, to strengthen relationships and support business development.

Build and maintain strong personal relationships with customers.

Develop business plans for key products and priority accounts.

Manage SWP transactions from quotation through order execution and delivery.

Follow up on customer quotes, leads, and open opportunities.

Maximize sales volume and margin contribution within assigned accounts.

Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and other systems to support communication, reporting, and pricing analysis.

Up to 10% Travel to support customer engagement; overnight and weekend travel may be required as business needs dictate.

Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant work experience considered.

Strong math and pricing skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Experience in building materials or specialty wood products preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position operates in a professional office environment with frequent customer communication and regular travel to customer, branch, and vendor locations. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, see, hear, and communicate. The role includes frequent vehicle travel and extended periods of driving.
