The Veterinary Assistant is a key member of the hospital team who will be assisting veterinary staff in examining and monitoring animal patients while maintaining clean and sanitary conditions throughout the hospital. We are looking for a compassionate veterinary assistant to join our organization. The ideal candidate will be willing to learn new skills and pay strong attention to detail, to develop their talents as an assistant. The veterinary assistant must have a passion for caring for animals and excellent customer service skills as the veterinary assistant will work directly with animal owners.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Willingness to learn labs, medical terminology, etc.
· Greet patients and their owners as they arrive and show them to an examining room
· Take pets’ weight and other vital signs upon arrival
· Provide patient restraint and assistance during procedures and examinations
· Feed, bathe and care for patients in our facility
· Clean and maintain the surgical room in preparation for procedures
· Prepare instruments and medications as directed by veterinary personnel
· Adhere to hospital’s safety and wellness regulations
· Ability to lift 40 lbs. and stand/walk 10 hrs.
· Perform some clerical duties including answering phones
· Daily Cleaning and sanitizing

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Experience:
- Veterinary assistant: 2 years (Required)
- Cytology: 1 year (Required)
- In House Laboratory: 2 years (Required)
