Role Overview
In this fulfilling role, you will contribute to the holistic development of children ages 18 months through 8th grade, by creating a joyful, secure environment for children of all ages.
Our school grounds include vibrant outdoor spaces, and we encourage exploration and learning in our forest environment through gardening, hiking, and play. You will also support the care of classroom plants and animals, fostering a connection to nature.
Responsibilities
Classroom Engagement:
- Maintain a prepared and inviting Montessori environment by organizing materials, rotating lessons, and replenishing supplies.
- Ensure the classroom and materials are cared for and notify the Director of any maintenance needs.
Safety & Well-being:
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of children, always maintaining a watchful, caring presence.
- Follow established protocols for storing materials and reporting incidents or injuries to families and the Director.
Administrative Collaboration:
- Maintain accurate dismissal logs and contribute to smooth daily transitions.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and annual evaluations to ensure alignment with our mission.
- Adhere to school policies and state standards while providing regular training documentation.
Housekeeping:
- Contribute to the maintenance of a tidy, attractive environment, assisting with tasks such as cleaning and organizing shared spaces as needed.

Qualifications
- A genuine love for children and a respect for their individuality.
- Must be 21 years or older (per TN DOE standards).
- High School Diploma required; Montessori certification or a willingness to learn Montessori pedagogy.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain) and the physical capability to safely assist children.
- Professional experience with daycare or school-age children is highly desirable.
- Background screening as required by the Tennessee Department of Education.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
