Oneida Health is currently seeking a part- time Surgical Scrub Technician to work in the Hospital’s Operating Room. This position would be for 8 hour days with 1 weekend / month of call ( weekend starts Friday at 3 PM until Monday at 7 AM) . The surgical scrub tech would be supporting surgical cases in the OR. In this role, you will assist the Registered Professional Nurse to prepare and maintain a sterile environment using surgical standards, policies, and procedures, stocking, preparing surgical cases, as well as assisting the physician with surgical procedures.
- Hourly range: $26.00-$38.00/hour
Responsibilities and Duties:

Preparing operating rooms with necessary sterile supplies and equipment

Assisting the surgeon during an operative procedure, within their scope of practice

Assist with transfer of specimens to the proper department

Cleaning or assisting in cleaning the operating room for the next case and gathering instruments for sterilization

Assisting the surgeon with gowns, masks, and gloves prior to and post-operative

Holding retractors
-
Assisting with post-operative dressings and the application of casts

Performing daily damp dusting and cleaning of the operating room area to ensure antiseptic procedures are followed

Cleaning and storing surgical instruments and equipment before and after use

All other duties as assigned

High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Must be certified from an accredited Surgical Scrub Technician program.

Minimally 1 year of experience ( preferred)

BLS certification (preferred)
