Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management strategies.
- Lead daily classroom activities focused on childhood development milestones, early intervention techniques, and social-emotional learning.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children’s progress, address individual needs related to special education or early intervention, and support child welfare initiatives.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently while maintaining high standards of classroom management and childcare safety protocols.
- Assess student progress through observations and standardized testing; adjust teaching strategies accordingly to meet diverse learning needs.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or aides, fostering teamwork and professional growth within the early childhood education setting.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in daycare environments; prior classroom management experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, early intervention practices, and behavior management techniques.
- Certification in early childhood education or equivalent credentials.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate standardized testing preparation when necessary.
- Experience working with children with special needs or in private school settings is highly desirable.
