Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure residents' health status is maintained
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and documentation procedures
- Provide compassionate Alzheimer's and dementia care, implementing memory care strategies to enhance residents' comfort and safety
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and mobility needs
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas to promote a hygienic environment
- Engage residents in social activities and group programs to foster community involvement and mental stimulation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of ADLs assistance, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care best practices
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in medication administration is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or geriatrics enhances your suitability for this role
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation purposes
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and engage positively with residents
- Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities within the community is desirable
