Today, Bridge City is looking for both part-time and full-time candidates with the opportunity for overtime when necessary. For some jobs, travel may be required; however, a majority of our jobs are within 20 miles of our office on the North Side in Pittsburgh
The salary for employees is commensurate with experience and level of skills. Candidates must have their own reliable source of transportation and small tools. Job Overview:
Bridge City Builders is seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker/Installer who can confidently build, assemble, finish, and install custom cabinetry and specialty millwork with minimal supervision. This role is for someone who takes ownership of their work, consistently delivers quality craftsmanship, and has the experience to manage projects from the shop to the final installation.
As a Cabinet Maker/Installer, you will read shop drawings, operate a variety of woodworking equipment including CNC routers, edge banders, panel saws, jointers, planers, shapers, and other shop machinery, and fabricate custom cabinetry to the highest standards. You will also complete installations, troubleshoot issues in the field, work closely with project managers and other trades, and help guide less experienced team members when needed. We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and takes pride in delivering exceptional work on every project.
Roles:
- Use a tape measure proficiently and understand dimensions for finishing a product.
- Work independently and be detail oriented.
- Have the ability to read shop drawings and work orders.
- Produce quality custom cabinets and specialized millwork.
- Handle woodworking equipment and tools proficiently and safely.
- Meet production goals with precision.
- Answer questions and give guidance to employees when they have questions while troubleshooting.
- Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship and polite communication.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Examines materials and products for defects, finish, and grade, and accuracy of dimensions.
- Maintains workstation in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion, and performs job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Utilize woodworking tools to complete custom projects.
- Identify concerns or problems with current design or manufacturing process.
- Able to multi-task, tolerate and manage changes in priorities and deadlines.
- Be flexible and adaptable and understand that you are part of a team.
- Adhere to safety practices to ensure safe and proper use of all tools and machinery.
Machinery experience:
- CNC router
- Edgebander
- Panel Saw
- Table saws
- Miter Saws
- Shapers
Requirements:
- Experience with cabinet shop equipment including, but not limited to, planers, shapers, table saws and miter saw.
- 3+ year(s) work experience in a woodworking or cabinet shop.
- Ability to construct/assemble cabinets, cabinet components.
- Basic math.
- Ability to read Architectural/Shop drawings.
- Understanding and adherence to safety requirements and standards of the millwork trade.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to meet team and individual deadlines for key projects & tasks.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain a consistent teamwork mentality.
