We are seeking a CDI Specialist with strong experience in clinical documentation review. In this remote role, you will review medical records to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant documentation that supports appropriate coding, reimbursement, and quality reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct retrospective reviews of medical records to assess documentation accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Identify opportunities for clarifying queries to improve documentation quality
- Collaborate with providers, coders, and other healthcare team members to ensure alignment with coding and clinical standards
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry guidelines (AHA Coding Clinic, Official Coding Guidelines, CMS, etc.)
- Meet productivity and quality standards while working in a fully remote, HIPAA-compliant environment
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) OR Foreign Medical Graduate.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a CDI specialist focused on retrospective review
- Strong understanding of coding systems (ICD-10-CM, MS-DRG, APR-DRG) and clinical documentation standards
- High-speed internet access and comfort working remotely with electronic health record systems and CDI/coding software
- Secure, HIPAA-compliant home office setup
- CDI certification (CCDS, CDIP) preferred but not required
